Worcester Man Sentenced To Life In Prison Following Home Invasion

He was accused of entering and firing a weapon inside of a Fitchburg apartment in Mar. 2022, the DA said.

WORCESTER, MA — A man in Worcester has been sentenced to life in prison in connection with a 2022 home invasion.

Concepcion Rodriguez, 39, was found guilty in Worcester Superior Court on Friday. He was accused of entering and firing a weapon inside of a Fitchburg apartment in Mar. 2022, the Worcester County District Attorney’s office said.

Rodriguez entered the home, looking for someone who didn’t live there. The DA said he fired his weapon inside the apartment and stole items before fleeing.

The person inside the home was not injured, according to officials.

On Friday, Rodriguez was convicted of home invasion, two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, use of a firearm while committing a felony, two counts of larceny under $1,200, possession of a firearm outside his home or work and possession of ammunition without an FID card.

He was also convicted as a habitual offender based on prior convictions, according to the DA.

The court imposed a life sentence, along with additional state prison sentences.

“I’m very grateful for the hard work of our prosecution team in bringing about this successful prosecution,” said Worcester County District Attorney Early.
