One of the DIA Inside|Out reproductions included in the program is located on the outside wall of the Main Library. This copy of the beautiful “Wilkinson Family,” painted by Francis Wheatley around 1776, portrays a wealthy middle-class English family enjoying a family gathering outside.
Students ages 10-12 will view the work and then create their own “family portrait,” but in modern style. The project will entail making “magic folding cubes” that will include photos of their families.
For more information on the project, call the library at 248-553-0400. There is no charge for participation.
