Farmington High Dance Takes the Flipside

The perils and joys of being a teenager emerge on stage at Thursday's spring concert.

From poetry to a "Stomp"-style percussion set, Thursday night's spring dance concert offered something for everyone.

With the theme, "The Flipside – Inspirations of a Teenager," Farmington Dance Company, Dance 3 and Dance 1-2 B ensembles performed 14 dances, most of which were choreographed by students. Guest performers included MoreDances Contemporary Dance Company director Jane Clayton-Reid and Elizabeth Kreutziger; poet TK McKenzie; and the Farmington High Percussion Ensemble.

During a touching "Torch Ceremony," seniors passed the torch on to underclassmen. Dance Company members Sabrina Deter, Alexandra Lewis, Macayla Lynch and Ralaina Rose; Kamilah Rice-Labarrie and Erin Whaley, Dance 3; and Andrea Steinke, Dance 1-2 B, all graduate this year.
