Farmington, North Students Receive Laptops Through Bright House Scholarship Program
Reem Aabed, Nate Hedgecock and Sam Gringlas are among 10 students honored by the local cable company.
Three Farmington-area students are winners of Bright House Networks 2012 βBright Futures Student Laptop Scholarshipβ Program.Β Β
Reem Aabed andΒ Nate Hedgecock of Farmington High School, and Sam Gringlas of North Farmington High School will receive a laptop with software and a carrying case.Β
βWe are excited to recognize these ... students as Bright Futures Scholars,β states Robert McCann, President Bright House Networks Detroit Division.Β βThey have all worked extremely hard to achieve excellence in both their community and academics, and we wish them the best of luck as they embark on their college careers.βΒ

The Bright Futures Scholar program,Β launched in January of 2012, is designed to recognize college-bound high school seniors in the Bright House Networks service area for their leadership skills, academic achievements and community service activities.
Students were asked to submit an application and develop an essay that described the importance of leadership both in school and in the community in which they live. Student winners will be recognized and laptops presented at Senior Awards programs at their respective schools.
