Farmington Schools 'Prize Patrol' Strikes on Friday
The district honors Support Person of the Year Donna Reuter and delivers more good news to Elementary School Teacher of the Year Christie Sabon.
When it comes to providing support, staff members rely on one person, time and again.
That's why on Friday, Donna Reuter was named the district's Support Person of the Year, with a surprise announcement, balloons and plenty of colorful flowers.
Reuter works at the Ten Mile Building as student information technician, touching virtually every student in the district by keeping student records that are used in the myriad reports the district is required to file. Reuter was singled out especially for easing the transition to Zangle, a new student information system that was implemented this year.

"Donna was one of three people who led the implementation process, assisted with trainings and provided support to all the people within the district," assistant superintendent of instructional services Catherine Cost wrote. "In the last six months, over 58 trainings were completed, and Donna attended every one of them."
Also surprised on Friday, teacher Christie Sabon was chosen to receive the lease of a new vehicle for one year, through the . On March 13, she was named the district's .

Sabon was selected randomly from among four teachers honored this year. The Suburban Collection covers all costs for the vehicle, with the exception of gas, and Sabon has a list of 40 models from which to choose.
"It just makes me so proud to work in Farmington, where they actually do recognize teachers," Sabon said. "Some districts don't do this."
"I'm so proud of all our teachers," she added.
