New Kid in Town: NFHS Meets Joseph Greene

Parents, students think North's new principal is a good fit.

When suburban Chicago school administrator Joseph Greene looked for a job in Michigan, he targeted just one spot: Principal at in Farmington Hills.

Greene told Farmington School Board members Tuesday, "When I looked at North Farmington, it really spoke to me. The mission, the vision and the values the school has ... really spoke out to me."

Students and parents alike had a positive reaction to their new school leader at a Tuesday evening reception hosted by the school's Parent Information Network and the Class of 2012.

The new principal spoke to a larger group in the Media Center, then sat with smaller clusters of students and parents to answer questions and talk about his administrative style.

Recently elected 2012 senior class president Erin Prim thought Greene handled the first meet and greet well. Nate Strauss, 2012 student senate president, was equally impressed.
