Macomb County Man Shoots Neighbor Over Noise Dispute: Prosecutor
Prosecutors said the two live in the same apartment complex and had an ongoing dispute about noise.

MOUNT CLEMENS, MI — A Macomb County man is facing charges after he shot his neighbor during an argument over noise, according to the Macomb County Prosecutors Office.
Jared Harris, 28, of Mount Clemens, was charged with assault with intent to murder (a life or any term of years felony) and weapons - felony firearm (a mandatory 2-year felony consecutive to the main charge), officials said.
He was placed in jail with a $250,000 bond. He cannot contact victim. His next court date is scheduled for Feb. 3.

Prosecutors said the shooting happened last Saturday at a Mount Clemens apartment. They said Harris and his neighbor, who live in the same complex, got into an argument about noise. The argument escalated and Harris eventually shot his neighbor in the abdomen, prosecutors said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said the two had an ongoing dispute about noise.
"It is alleged that the defendant introduced a firearm during an argument. Situations like this show how quickly a dispute can escalate and put people at real risk when a weapon is involved. Our office takes incidents involving guns very seriously and will move this case forward through the appropriate process," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
