Canton Resident Grants Wishes To Teens With Cancer + Nearby Cider Mill Opening

- Shedneck Foundation, which was founded by Canton's Jim O'Farrell, grants wishes to Plymouth-Canton teens with cancer. He works closely with the Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Program at the Rogel Cancer Center at University of Michigan Health in Ann Arbor, where a social worker helps to identify patients from the Plymouth-Canton community. - With fall just around the corner, one of Michigan's oldest cider mills in the Plymouth area will open Saturday. The Parmenter's Northville Cider Mill opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, selling its signature fresh doughnuts, apple cider, Fudge, pies and more. (Plymouth-Canton Patch)
- The Jackson County Animal Shelter helped two kittens get adopted Monday morning after it turning them into celebrities when it asked someone to adopt the "two-headed cat" Friday afternoon. (Michigan Patch)
- Two men were arrested Thursday after police said they smashed a car's window and stole the sterling wheel in a Dearborn parking lot. In addition, police believe the two men stole numerous steering wheels across metro Detroit, accounting for much of the rise in steering wheel thefts across the region, police said. (Dearborn Patch)
