Apple Valley Crash Leaves 1 With Life-Threatening Injury
A motorcyclist suffered a life-threatening injury Monday in a crash on Interstate 35E in Apple Valley.
APPLE VALLEY, MN — A motorcyclist suffered a life-threatening injury Monday in a crash on Interstate 35E in Apple Valley. Kurt Witthoeft, 54, of Faribault was riding a 2015 Harley Davidson Street motorcycle northbound at 8:01 a.m. when traffic slowed for merging vehicles near County Road 11. Witthoeft rear-ended a 2008 Chrysler Sebring being driven by Rebecca Elizabeth Ampe, 34.
Witthoeft suffered a life-threatening injury and was taken to St. Paul Regions Hospital. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Ampe did not suffer injury in the crash. Burnsville and Apple Valley police assisted in the response.
