EHS Lands New HOF Varsity Softball Coach
Michelle Seiger has signed on as the new head coach for the Hornets.

The Edina High School varsity softball team has a new Hall of Fame head coach, with Michelle Seiger coming on board to helm the team in the spring.
Seiger said she's looking forward to building on Edina's "strong tradition of athletics."
"I look forward to working with this strong young team and using the foundation of our great feeder programs in Edina to build a team that is both respected and feared statewide," Seiger said in a release.

Seiger has a number of years of coaching experience, most notably at Henry Sibley High School in West St. Paul. During her time at Henry Sibley, Seiger was recognized as section coach of the year and was inducted into the Minnesota High School Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
In addition to softball, she has also coached girls' soccer and hockey. Seiger also teaches individual and group lessons in hitting, fielding and catching at Strike 3 Pitching in Bloomington, where she also conducts softball clinics for local athletes.

"We are very excited to have Michelle join the Edina High School team," said EHS Interim Athletic Manager Chad Nyberg. "Her knowledge as both a coach and a player will serve our players well and will help guide the Hornet softball program for years to come."
Seiger has also worked as a physical education teacher in both middle and high schools. She currently is an educational assistant as part of South Education Center’s alternative education program, where she works with students on academic, social and emotional skill development.
