New Public Works Building is Green to the Max

Hundreds attend open house for the 130,000 square foot facility, which opened last August.

Several hundred people toured the new and Park Maintenance Facility on May 18 as part of an Open House.

The facility opened in August 2010 and replaced the former site on Eden Avenue, which was outdated after 40 years of use.

The new facility at 7450 Metro Boulevard—most of which was in existence when the city took over—is 130,000 square feet in size and is the base for 80 full-time and 47 summer employees.
