Hastings teams will see changes from new MSHSL decisions (hastingsjournal.news) — Hastings High School athletes and fans will see notable Minnesota State High School League changes, from a new cross country state meet site in Ham Lake to higher state tournament ticket prices. Upcoming shifts in basketball tournament dates, activity fees, softball tiebreakers, tennis classifications, girls wrestling limits, and emerging sports like girls flag football and esports could all reshape how Raider teams travel, compete, and budget in coming seasons.

Hastings Infrastructure Work Continues Along 4th Street and Pleasant Drive – KDWA 1460 AM & FM 97.7 (kdwa.com) — Neighborhood infrastructure work in Hastings is moving into a new phase along 4th Street and Pleasant Drive, with water and sewer upgrades and trail paving underway this week. Access at 4th and Pleasant is limited to local residents, and drivers are asked not to park on construction streets or disturb project stakes. Sheriff's Office Seeks Info On Body Found In Mississippi River (patch.com) — Dakota County authorities based in Hastings are asking residents for any information about 40-year-old Timothy Bryan Standish Jr., who was found deceased in the Mississippi River near Inver Grove Heights on August 14. Investigators want tips about his friends, associates, and recent activities but are withholding further details out of respect for his family. Anyone with information can call the county's anonymous tip line.

4. Former Hastings Plumbing Company Employee Charged in Alleged $82K Theft Scheme (limitless-news.com) — A former employee of a Hastings plumbing company is charged in Dakota County with multiple theft-by-swindle counts tied to more than $82,000 in alleged losses over several years. Investigators say Hastings police were alerted in 2025, and the case centers on payments and inventory proceeds the worker allegedly kept. The defendant remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
