Affidavit: Man Cops To Concord Theft Saying, ‘Life Sucks Right Now And I Need Hygiene’
Nathaniel Bergeron of Pittsfield was arrested late last month on felony theft and habitual offender charges after two incidents at Walmart.

CONCORD, NH — A man from Pittsfield faces multiple charges, including two felonies, after two incidents at Walmart in Concord in June.
Nathaniel Joseph Bergeron, 27, of Catamount Road in Pittsfield, was arrested at 8:47 a.m. on July 22 on felony operating after certification as a habitual offender, criminal trespass, and breach of bail conditions. He was also charged with theft, a felony, due to two prior convictions.
In the theft case, police were sent to Walmart on Loudon Road around 10:30 a.m. on June 15 to assist with a theft incident at the store five days before.

A loss prevention employee accused a man, who came to the store in a black Jeep, of placing merchandise in a shopping cart and leaving without paying for the items. The products — an electric toothbrush, mouthwash, duct tape, and a shaver, were valued at around $63, the employee said. The officer used the Jeep’s registration to find out the owner of the vehicle, who was a woman connected to Bergeron, a report said.
After eyeing booking photos and the security footage, the officer believed the theft suspect was Bergeron, a report stated.

Later in the day, Bergeron was questioned at police headquarters about whether he was with the woman at the store and was accused of replying that he “probably was.” When asked about the stolen items, Bergeron was accused of saying, “You obviously know it was me.” Bergeron added, “You wanna know why I did it or something? Life sucks right now and I need hygiene,” an affidavit said.
Since Bergeron was convicted of theft in November 2017 in Concord District Court and November 2018 in Merrimack County Superior Court, the charge was elevated to a felony.
Bergeron was trespassed from the store and a warrant was issued for his arrest on June 25.
About a week later, Bergeron was accused of criminal trespass at Walmart.
Around 9:30 a.m. on June 23, the loss prevention employee, the same one involved in the previous theft incident, called the police claiming Bergeron drove by the store in the Jeep again.
The employee said they recognized Bergeron’s face “very clearly, knowing it was him,” an affidavit said. He was accused of dropping off a woman, a passenger in the Jeep, at the store.
The employee provided both a statement and video footage of Bergeron driving the Jeep in front of the store, the report said.
The officer checked Bergeron’s driving history and found his license was suspended and he was a habitual offender, too, and had been since June 2021. He was convicted of driving under the influence in Concord District Court in November 2017. Bergeron was also out on bail out of Concord District Court, a report said.
A warrant was issued against Bergeron on July 2.
