‘River Dave’ Released From County Jail

After hearing news that the compound that David Lidstone, “River Dave,” had been living in had been destroyed by fire, the center of a property dispute in Canterbury, Judge Andrew Schulman of the Merrimack County Superior Court ordered him to be released from the county jail on Thursday afternoon. Lidstone, however, is being ordered to comply with the court’s permanent injunction, the judge stated. Read Patch’s coverage here and here.

2 Dead In Hinsdale

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is investigating a shooting that took the lives of two in Hinsdale. David Lent, 47, and his son, Tyler Gilbert, 12, were found dead inside a home on Plain Road. Based upon the information gathered so far, the incident appears to be "contained and all individuals involved have been identified," said Kate Giaquinto, a spokesperson for the department, adding, that there did not appear to be any danger to the public stemming from this shooting.

Evictions Paused In 3 NH Counties

Despite the U.S. Supreme Court stating the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mandating a moratorium on evictions was unconstitutional (Congress needs to make these decisions), they have been paused in three New Hampshire counties through Oct. 3. WMUR-TV has this update.
