Alleged Drug Run Leads to Taser Stun, Charges
Concord Police arrested Christopher Mancini on charges at the Cranmore Ridge complex after suspicious men were reported in the area.

CONCORD, NH — A local man was arrested on numerous charges recently after police allege he was in the eastern part of the city with an acquaintance to arrange a drug deal, according to an arrest report and court affidavit. Christopher Mancini, 34, of East Side Drive in Concord, was arrested on Oct. 20, 2016, a bench warrant as well as two felony possession of controlled drug counts and two resisting arrest or detention charges.

Police were sent to the area of Portsmouth Street and Broken Ground for a report of two suspicious men walking in the area. The men were carrying several backpacks, were slightly separated, at times, while walking, and it appeared odd, the tipster noted, especially after they started yelling at each other. Officers searched the area and one of them found a man – later identified as Mancini – reportedly on the Cranmore Ridge compound near the management office. Backup was called in “due to the individual being uncooperative,” according to an affidavit.

One of the responding officers positively identified the man as Mancini from a booking photo. One of the officers began asking Mancini about his backpacks and why he was in the area.
“Mancini was very defensive and said he was just out walking, picking up trash, and he claimed he always picks up trash when he is out walking,” the officer alleged.

A second officer asked about the other man and Mancini allegedly stated, “He kept walking and he wouldn’t wait for me so I yelled for him to slow down.” According to the affidavit, “Mancini continued and said, ‘I only know him by Drew and I don’t know his last name.’”
Mancini was asked if he lived in the complex and he reported stated that he didn’t and added that he and “Drew” were meeting with another man who lived at the complex – “Derek” – but allegedly “did not elaborate on why they had to meet Derek or where he lived in the complex.”
During a follow-up conversation about his backpack, Mancini allegedly became “very agitated and defensive,” and stated that he was not going to give officers permission to search his bag because “there is no need of it,” the affidavit alleged.
Mancini had an active bench warrant out of Concord District Court for driving after suspension from Sept. 19, a dispatcher told the officers, and when they informed Mancini that he was being arrested, he allegedly backed up, yelled that he had PSTD (post-traumatic stress syndrome), and allegedly began running.
The officers ran after him while ordering him to stop and he allegedly refused all commands and continued to run, crossing through yards and homes in the area.
Two other officers cornered him in the backyard of one home and he was reportedly warned that he would be Tased if he did not drop to his stomach. Mancini, the affidavit alleged, dropped to his knees but not his stomach. Officers allegedly continued to order him down and he reportedly refused and pulled away from officers as they tried to control him. The reporting officer then Tased Mancini in stun mode in the leg. Mancini allegedly kicked the Taster off his leg and the officer hit him again with the stun.
“OK, OK, I am going on my stomach,” he allegedly stated after the second stun.
Mancini was placed in a police cruiser, and allegedly continued to yell, while officers performed an inventory search of his backpacks. They allegedly found substances that field tests positive for cocaine and methamphetamine, the affidavit noted. The reporting officer went to the cruiser to speak with Mancini and reportedly found another packet of drugs on the ground, believed to be heroin. Mancini allegedly denied the packet was his and stated he didn’t know where it came from.
During processing, the affidavit stated, Mancini allegedly admitted that he and “Drew” were “making a drug run” and were going to sell the drugs to “Derek,” somewhere in the Cranmore Ridge complex. He allegedly stated that some of the drugs were in his underwear waistband and must have fallen out.
