According to a court affidavit, officers were sent to an apartment building on Pleasant Street for a report of a domestic with a woman alleging that a man had assaulted her and hit her with a coffee table. The man – later identified as Mounsey – had fled the scene, dispatch stated.

The officers arrived and met with a man who reported that Mounsey had allegedly gotten into an altercation with the woman and he thought that her hand was broken. The officers met with the woman who had her hand on ice to reduce the swelling. The woman stated that Mounsey was reportedly “furious” when she wouldn’t let him use her vehicle.
“(The victim) stated that Shawn then tossed the living room table over and proceeded to walk out of the apartment,” the reporting officer alleged. “(The victim) stated that as she walked behind Shawn to calm him down, he slammed the exit door, which hit her left hand.”

The victim reported that it was difficult for her to move her hand. Concord Fire and Rescue teams were called to the apartment to attend to the injury.
Two witnesses allegedly heard yelling between the pair and then, a loud bang, so they came to the apartment to make sure that the woman was OK. One witness claimed that Mounsey allegedly smelled like beer and tried to get back into the apartment before leaving again.
While investigating the incident, dispatch reported to the officers that Mounsey was now at the Concord Hospital emergency room. The officers went to speak with him and he allegedly admitted to flipping over a table and slamming a door.
“Shawn added that he did that out of anger and believed that he did not cause harm to (the victim),” the officer alleged.
Mounsey was arrested and during processing, the bail commissioner requested $1,500 cash bail due to his alleged violated bail conditions since he was out after being arrested on a hit-and-run charge. He couldn’t come up with the money so he was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections and arraigned on March 6.
According to reports on Patch, Mounsey has been arrested a number of times during the past five years. Back in June 2012, he was arrested on DWI and drug charges after a traffic stop on Long Pond Road. Two years ago, in January 2015, he was arrested for prowling on South Street and a theft warrant from October 2012, after allegedly being found crouched down by a car and unable to stand without assistance, police alleged. About a month later, he was arrested again on a warrant for nonpayment of fines on the DWI charges. In January, he was arrested for criminal mischief, simple assault, and domestic violence-simple assault after an alleged incident on Wilson Avenue. Later on that month, he was arrested again for conduct after an accident and operating without a valid license after an alleged crash on Perley Street near the American Legion hall.
