ARRESTS: Concord Man Faces More Charges
Plus, homeless woman arrested for heroin possession on the Statehouse Plaza.

Joshua Israel Abbott (pictured), 20, a homeless man from Concord, was arrested at 8:59 p.m. on June 25, 2014, and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol and default or breach of bail conditions. An officer was sent to Washington Street near South Spring at around 8:30 p.m. for a report of an intoxicated man who was “yelling and stumbling” and also fell on the ground at one point. About 15 minutes later, the officer was sent to North State Street for a report of an unwanted guest that matched the description of the previous call. The officer alleged that the man, Abbott, smelled like alcohol and “was swaying in a circular motion.” He refused a breath test and was arrested. Since he was out on bail, he received a breach charge and was held on $2,000 cash bail. Abbott was arraigned on June 26.

Jason John Philbrick, 33, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 12:47 a.m. on June 26, 2014, on a criminal trespass charge. An officer on South Main Street saw Philbrick allegedly walk into the McDonald’s Restaurant on South Main Street and knew he had no trespass paperwork for the property from 2013. The officer confirmed the no trespass paperwork was still in place and went in and arrested Philbrick. He refused bail and was arraigned later that day.

Darryl Furnari, 42, of Cross Mill Extension in Northfield, was arrested at 4:20 p.m. on June 26, 2014, on a theft charge. An officer was sent to Market Basket on Storrs Street for a man who allegedly tried to steal a carriage with about $71 in groceries. Furnari allegedly admitted to the crime. “Furnari was apologetic and stated money was tight,” the report alleged. He was arrested and had a court date on Aug. 4.
Caitlyn Emilee Ladd, 26, a homeless woman now located in Concord, was arrested at 11:42 a.m. on June 26, 2014, on two bench warrants, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, and felony possession of controlled drugs. An officer was sent to the Statehouse Plaza to locate Ladd after dispatch received a tip that she might be selling drugs. She also had active warrants out of Nashua and Concord District Courts. The officer found three men and Ladd sitting on a granite wall and she was arrested on the warrants. Other officers arrived at the scene and during a pat down, another officer allegedly found to Neurontin pills for which she didn’t have a prescription. During processing, a search of her property allegedly yielded “several items of drug paraphernalia including spoons with residue” that later tested positive for heroin. Ladd was held without bail and arraigned on June 27.

Desiree M. Charter, 28, of Clough Road in Pittsfield, was arrested at 5:37 p.m. on June 26, 2014, on theft and default or breach of bail conditions charges. Officers were sent to the Market Basket on Storrs Street for a female shoplifter. Charter, according to the report, was on the ground crying, saying that her face hurt, since employees at the store hit her head on the ground. The employees alleged that Charter walked through a register without paying for about $25 worth of items. An employee ran after Charter allegedly wouldn’t stop and held her to the ground until police arrived. She was later arrested. Since Charter was out on bail, a breach charge was added.
Jermaine Perry Jones, 24, of Canton Circle in Concord, was arrested at 12:44 a.m. on June 27, 2014, and charged with possession of controlled drugs, possession of drugs, and transportation of alcohol/open container. Officers were called to White Park for a report of possible drug activity in a suspicious vehicle. One officer found some teens playing Frisbee while other officers searched vehicles. Near the old Parks & Recreation Building, there was a vehicle with four people in it. The officers spoke with all involved and allegedly found a black and white glass pipe in the car that smelled like marijuana. The officers asked Jones to get out of the car and he was arrested.
Bobby Chicago Kelley, 29, of Washington Street in Penacook, was arrested at 9:31 a.m. on June 28, 2014, on a simple assault charge from May 25, at the methadone clinic on Hall Street. Kelly was arrested by Manchester Police on the warrant. He was arraigned on July 28.
Paul R. Rankins, 48, of North Main Street in Concord, was arrested at 11:43 p.m. on June 28, 2014, on a simple assault charge. An officer on a separate call at the Vegas Block Apartments moved to another apartment after receiving a call about an assault. The officer found a man standing in the doorway “with blood coming down the right side of his face.” The man alleged that his roommate, Rankins, allegedly assaulted him. “(The man) stated that he wanted Rankins out of his apartment or he would get killed,” the officer stated. Rankins, however, denied assaulting the man. The officer alleged that he had blood on his hand and he was arrested and held on $2,000 cash bail. He was arraigned on June 30.
Travis R. Szantos, 30, of Concord Street in Concord, was arrested at 11:50 p.m. on June 28, 2014, on two default or breach of bail conditions. An officer was sent to South State Street for a report of Szantos returning to an apartment where he had previously been told, as part of his bail, not to be there. When police arrived, Szantos allegedly ran out the back door. Police searched the area and found Szantos reportedly hiding behind a tree. He was arrested and held on $4,000 cash bail.
Sheyenne Bishop, 20, on Hullsbakers Place in Concord, was arrested at 10:29 p.m. on June 29, 2014, on two felony counts of sale of controlled drugs from April 29, and May 6, at the Irving on 3A in Bow. Bishop was arrested by Manchester Police and transported to Concord where she was held on $5,000 cash bail and arraigned on June 30.
