Concord Man Arrested After Multi-Community Route 106 Chase: New Hampshire State Police

Felon Tyler Hoyt was arrested Monday after Belmont, Loudon chase; troopers say NH Motor Speedway bomb threat was phoned-in during the chase.

CONCORD, NH — A felon from Concord, with active weapon and drug possession charges, was arrested on Monday after a chase through several capital region communities, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Around 11:30 p.m., Troop D troopers were told about a chase on Route 106 that began in Belmont. Police in that community were chasing a motor vehicle on the southbound side of the road. Troopers deployed spike strips to stop the vehicle in the area of Interstate 393, Amber Lagace, a public information officer for the department, said.

The vehicle hit the strips and sped off Route 106 onto Loudon Road near the Chichester town line. The driver, Tyler W. Hoyt, 28, of Concord, was accused of exiting the vehicle and attempting to flee the scene but he was caught and arrested later. Crystal Reynolds, 40, of Woodsville, who was a passenger in the car, was also arrested by Belmont police on an active electronic bench warrant.

“During the investigation,” Lagace said, “it was discovered that a false bomb threat had been reported to the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office from the NH Motor Speedway while the pursuit was still happening, in an attempt to draw attention away from the suspect vehicle. The Loudon Police Department is investigating those allegations further.”

Hoyt was charged with possession of a controlled drug and falsifying physical evidence, both felonies, and resisting arrest or detention charges. He was arraigned on Tuesday in Merrimack County Superior Court.
