Concord Police Called To Fight Reports Downtown: Watch

Police officers, trooper were sent to Pleasant Street Ext. and Storrs Street for a report of fights involving dozens of people on Sunday.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police and a New Hampshire State Police trooper were kept busy on Sunday with reports of at least two fights in Downtown Concord.

Around 12:30 a.m., police dispatch began receiving reports of a large fight breaking out in the area of Pleasant Street Extension and Storrs Street involving 25 or 30 people. Officers and later, state police, converged on the area as many of the involved parties quickly left the area. Officers later learned the incident originated at or around Wow Chicken on Pleasant Street Extension where there have been a number of previous incidents, including fights.

The initial investigation revealed at least two women were involved in the incident with one being trespassed from an establishment in the area.

At the same time as the melee call, an attempted burglary on Court Street was investigated by the police with the victim stating they knew the suspect and knew him to have possession of firearms. The man left the area not long after the call was reported.

More trespass paperwork was also issued or prepared for all involved in the Storrs Street incident, police said.

About an hour later, after finishing the initial call, police were flagged down about another fight on Storrs Street.

At least two people were questioned and police found out they were involved in the initial call at or around Wow Chicken, according to scanner chatter. One blew a 0.154 on an alcohol breath test. A second person, who turned 21 about two weeks ago, was also questioned. They were both taken to Concord Hospital to be picked up later by a sober party, dispatch said.

At 2:15 a.m., another officer reported “a large group of people” in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn on North Main Street.

Other officers arrived and found there was a wedding party going on and, at the same time, a number of new people not involved in the event wanted to participate. But the original partygoers did not want them involved, the officer said.

“No crime occurred,” the officer said.

No injuries were reported.
