Concord School District Hires New Principal For Rundlett
Paulette Fitzgerald, the principal at the Claremont Middle School, will lead Concord's middle school beginning in July 2018.

CONCORD, NH — The Concord School District has hired a new middle-school principal from Claremont to work at Rundlett Middle School beginning in July, according to Superintendent Terri Forsten. Paulette Fitzgerald was nominated to the school board by Forsten after a search committee narrowed down the candidates to two – Fitzgerald and Dr. Alison Bryant, who is currently the principal for the Laconia Middle School. Both candidates visited RMS and met with stakeholders last week.
The search committee also visited the middle school in Claremont, Forsten noted.
“Fitzgerald is an exemplary educational leader who has leadership experience in curriculum development, competency-based learning, and shares our vision to support outstanding educational opportunities with our middle school students,” Forsten said in a statement. “(She) impressed our search committee with her experience in developing a student advisory, creating a wellness committee for staff, presenting positively in response to all of our questions, and understanding the breadth of experiences that our middle school students bring to school.

The team was also impressed by Fitzgerald’s focus on “what’s good for kids” and “a team driven culture to support students” as well as community needs, Forsten said.
Fitzgerald will replace current Principal Jim McCollum, who was hired as an interim principal and then, decided to stay on, announced his retirement last month from public education, at the conclusion of the current school year.
