CONCORD, NH — A teen from Concord is facing felony threat and domestic assault charges after an incident in the South End last month.

May Hubbard, 18, of Allison Street in Concord, was arrested on Aug. 9 on criminal threatening-deadly weapon, domestic violence-criminal threatening-deadly weapon, two simple assault, and two domestic violence-simple assault charges.

Around 10:15 a.m. on the day in question, officers were sent to Allison Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman was reporting a teen relative attempted to attack her with a knife, spat on her, and destroyed items in the home.

The officers interviewed the victim and the suspect separately, with the woman saying, after she “politely informed May” they needed to clean their room, and “lightly smacked” Hubbard on the backside. Hubbard left the room, “retrieved a kitchen knife,” and walked toward her, the affidavit stated. The woman walked to Hubbard, but the teen began screaming, “I’m going to f------ kill you, stab it through you,” repeatedly, while motioning the knife in her direction, in a stabbing motion, according to the report.

The woman said, although Hubbard did not strike her with the knife, “it felt as if she was going to, as she was flaring her arms aggressively.” The woman requested another teen to the room for assistance and, after doing so, grabbed Hubbard’s wrist, disarming them. She accused Hubbard of spitting at her, walking away, and retrieving a stick. The teen then hit the other teen with the stick in the shoulder, the report said.

According to the affidavit, the reporting officer interviewed the second teen, who confirmed the other teen was chasing the woman with a knife. She also said after Hubbard dropped the knife, they grabbed a stick and hit her with it, the report said.

The reporting officer eyed the knife and confirmed it was an ordinary kitchen knife, but had a sharp blade.

Hubbard, during an interview with the second officer, admitted to threatening the woman with a knife, the affidavit said.

Hubbard was arrested and held on preventative detention. On Aug. 11, the teen entered a plea of not guilty to the assault charges but offered no plea to the felony charges. They also requested and received a lawyer. Hubbard was released on personal recognizance bail after the hearing.

A probable cause hearing was held in Concord District Court on Sept. 8.
