Concord Teen Racks Up Charges

Colton Squeglia allegedly asks officer, "Dude … do you have anymore spice?"; gets arrested multiple times during the last two months.

A local teen is in a whole mess of trouble after incidents in the city during the last eight weeks, according to arrest reports and court documents.

Colton James Squeglia, 18, of Manchester Street in Concord, was arrested on Nov. 26, 2014, on an interference with the custody of a child charge. On Nov. 29, 2014, he was arrested on simple assault, resisting arrest or detention, unlawful possession of alcohol, and default or breach of bail charges. Then, on Dec. 28, 2014, he was arrested again on simple assault and breach of bail charges.

In the first incident, police were sent to a mobile home park on Manchester Street to pick up Squeglia who was allegedly involved in a child custody issue in an apartment on Old Suncook Road.

They met with a relative who stated he was in his bedroom sleeping. He was arrested at around 9:30 a.m. on a warrant and issued information about his bail. He was due to be in court to answer to the charge earlier today.

Three days later though, Squeglia was arrested again after officers were called to the home at around 11:30 p.m. after relatives complained about his behavior, alleging that he was intoxicated and had assaulted people at the address.

When they arrived, one officer spoke to the complainants while another officer looked for Squeglia. One alleged that he poured milk on top of a man’s head after being asked to leave the home. The officer saw Squeglia at the back of the residence and went to speak with him.

“As I approached Colton, he started walking towards me and stated, ‘Dude, I’m f---ed up. Do you have anymore spice?’ At that time,” the officer wrote, “Colton paused and stated, ‘Oh sh--, you’re a cop.’”

Squeglia allegedly turned to run and the officer grabbed his arm and told him that he was being detained. He reportedly denied doing anything wrong, said he was being hurt by “the snipers” while they were holding onto him. He allegedly struggled with the officers and attempted to keep from being cuffed.

“While speaking with Colton, I observed that his face was smeared with spit and mucus,” the officer wrote, adding that he smelled like alcohol.

Squeglia was held without bail and taken to the Merrimack County House of Corrections.

About a month later, Squeglia was arrested again on Manchester Street after officers were called to a domestic disturbance report.

Police spoke with a woman who alleged that after making a joke about an acquaintance, Squeglia allegedly “got upset” and “kicked her in the left knee four times before leaving the area.” The officer didn’t see any apparent injury but a witness, his brother, confirmed the alleged assault.

Later, the officer spoke with Squeglia, who alleged that his mother “gave him a hard time and made fun of his friends.”

Squeglia refused bail, was held, and arraigned on Dec. 29.

Last May, Squeglia was arrested for allegedly threatening his grandmother, according to Concord Police. A few weeks later, he allegedly assaulted a girl at Concord High School. In 2013, he was arrested for drug possession and alcohol possession as well as resisting.
