Update: Jahiem Forte of Meriden, CT, was arrested Wednesday on charges; car stolen from NY; K-9 tracks driver, passengers in South End.

CONCORD, NH — A Connecticut teen is scheduled to be arraigned in Merrimack County Superior Court on numerous felony charges after a chase with New Hampshire State Police on Wednesday.
Jahiem Forte, 19, of Meriden, CT, was arrested after being accused of driving around 110 mph on Interstate 93 north in a 2020 Honda Accord that was reported stolen from New York. State police from Troop D attempted to stop the car after it was clocked in Bow just before 12:30 a.m., according to Lt. Daniel Baldessarre.
“The operator of the vehicle failed to stop for the trooper and continued northbound heading toward Concord,” he said. “The operator got off the highway at Exit 16 and proceeded to reverse direction, heading southbound.”

More troopers were requested and were able to get into position to deploy stop sticks in the area of Exit 13. The stop sticks were deployed and successfully deflated the passenger-side tires of the car, he said. Forte, however, was accused of continuing to drive in an effort to elude troopers.
“The operator continued to drive with flattened tires and proceeded southbound where it got on to Interstate 89 North, where it then took Exit 1,” Baldessarre said. “As the vehicle’s tires continued to deflate, the operator was forced to reduce its speed but continued to drive on the rims.”

Forte was accused of driving onto a dead-end road off Rockingham Street where he and two passengers left the car and fled. A K-9 unit was requested and after about 90 minutes, Forte was found and arrested. He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, receiving stolen property, reckless conduct, and resisting arrest. One of the two passengers was also found, according to Sgt. Livingston of Troop D. One is still at-large.
Forte was held on preventive detention and is scheduled to be arraigned in superior court on Wednesday.
Forte, according to posts on Patch, was arrested in August 2020 on second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary during a stolen car incident in Southington, CT.
