CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help finding a domestic assaulter who is wanted on two warrants, accused of violation probation.

John Patrick Bauer is white, 43, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighs 180 pounds. He has green eyes and brown, shaved, or short-cropped hair.

The warrants for his arrest were issued out of the Rockingham County Superior Court.

Bauer, officials said, was on supervision after being convicted on a simple assault-domestic violence charge and then absconding from supervision. He was released in January after serving a sentence for previous probation violations.

“Bauer also has additional warrants, including a felony drug warrant with charges pending out of the Rockingham County Superior Court and an arrest warrant issued by the Brentwood Circuit Court on pending charges of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct,” officials said. “Bauer has an extensive criminal history in multiple states that includes domestic violence assault, stalking, burglary, failure to appear, theft, drugs and motor vehicle offenses.”

A “violent tendencies” warning was put on his alert.

Bauer is believed to be in Strafford County, specifically Dover or Rochester, or possibly the Seacoast area of Rockingham County.

According to court records, Bauer is accused of three felony drug possession charges, as well as driving after revocation or suspension and a suspension of vehicle registration violation after an incident in Stratham on July 4, 2024. He was scheduled to appear at a dispositional conference hearing on Feb. 25 but failed to appear.

Anyone who knows where Bauer is should not try to apprehend him. Instead, call corrections at 603-271-1804, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office at 603-679-2225, or local police.
