Expect Water Disruption in Concord Tonight

Due to complications from an old fire hydrant, water will be shut off in parts of downtown.

Water will be shut off in some parts of Downtown Concord tonight (April 16, 2015) due to complications from earlier today, according to a report from the Main Street project.

A forced water shutoff will occur in buildings between School Street and Hills Avenue, some of the same buildings that had water shut off on Tuesday after the water main break caused flooding downtown.

The complications requiring the shutoff today was due to the replacement of an aging fire hydrant earlier today, according to the alert. Officials say they hope for water to be turned back on sometime later tonight although an exact time was not given.
