CONCORD, NH — An accused drug dealer who may be connected to the death of a New Hampshire man in 2014 was returned to the United States to face a death resulting charge after being extradited from the Dominican Republic. The U.S. Marshals Service found Felix Aguilar, 42, hiding out in his home country after receiving "several tips" indicating he had fled the United States. He had been featured as a New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week in 2015 and 2016 since the death of Thomas Drake, 22, of Atkinson, in September 2014, of a heroin overdose.

On May 9, according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White, Aguilar was arrested in the DR after local authorities worked with the task force to locate him. Last week, marshals brought him back to New Hampshire. Aguilar is being held by the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department on $500,000 cash bail.

"This arrest shows the international reach of the U.S. Marshals Service," stated U.S. Marshal Nick Willard. "A fugitive might think they are safe from arrest in a foreign country, but I assure you they are not and they will be brought to justice."

According to reports online, Aguilar is accused of selling the heroin that killed Drake to Nicholas Austin of Newton. Austin – Drake's best friend at the time – gave him the fatal dose. Aguilar was indicted on the drug dealing with death resulting charge in October 2015. Austin was sentenced to 13 years in prison back in July 2016, the New Hampshire Union Leader noted at the time.

For many years, marshals suspected that Aguilar – who had numerous aliases – was hiding out in the Merrimack Valley, mainly Haverhill and Lawrence, or metro Boston areas of Massachusetts or possibly Rockingham County in southern New Hampshire. His last known address in 2015, was Holden Street in Boston, MA.

According to the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, Aguilar was arrested in 2014 and served time for selling heroin but was released before police were able to secure the death resulting indictment. He had been missing ever since.
