GoFundMe Effort Set Up For Family Of NH Woman Murdered In Concord
Zoe Desmarais of Dunbarton was killed at the Steeplegate Mall Wednesday. An Andover, Mass., family friend is now raising money for her mom.

CONCORD, NH — A family friend is helping to raise money for Zoe Desmarais' mother via a GoFundMe.com effort. Desmarais, of Dunbarton, was shot and killed during a murder-suicide incident at the Steeplegate Mall in Concord by her boyfriend, Alex Thorne. According to Sarah Blumenstock of Operation ELF in Andover, Massachusetts, who helped set up the site, the "family now has a large financial burden which adds even more strain to their emotional devastation."
The site has a goal of $10,000 and has raised around $2,000 at post time, in about 15 hours.
"Zoe had just finished college and started a new job and was looking forward to a promising future," Blumenstock wrote. "Like her mother, Zoe had a big heart and giving spirit. There are no words that can capture the gravity of her loss. Lori has always been known for her silent strength and generous spirit and it is now our turn to generously support her. We are collecting donations for them and are asking for your help. Please give whatever you can to support the Desmarais family in this time of need."
