CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office and the Concord Police Department are investigating the death of a man at a local apartment complex. At just after 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Concord police were called to the Crutchfield Building at 15 Pitman St. for a report of a possible shooting. A tenant on the fifth floor of the building called police to report that they heard a loud bang, louder than they had ever heard before, coming from a neighboring apartment.
The tenant reported seeing a man fleeing the scene and a dog running around. The witness went to investigate what happened, saw blood all over the floor, and called police.

The first arriving officer confirmed seeing blood, that the apartment was clear, and called for an ambulance, according to scanner chatter. He noted that the crime scene extended out into the hallway and officers were going to do their best to secure the area.
Not long after that, numerous cruisers were sent to the building to begin questioning witnesses and search for clues. Tenants reported to Patch that the building was evacuated at just before 8:30 p.m. but no one was told why.

During the next hour or so, officers attempt to piece together what happened, speaking with numerous tenants in the building. One of the witnesses reported that the suspect and the victim were seen at The Friendly Kitchen all day. Another witness reported seeing a man putting on boots, fleeing the building, and then leaving the area in a vehicle.
A BOLO – be on the lookout – call was issued statewide to law enforcement describing the wanted subject as a man, about 5-feet, 5-inches to 7-inches tall, with a thin build, dark hair, in his 20s, wearing jean shorts and a dark blue shirt. He reportedly left in the victim's car, a blue 2012 Mazda 3 sedan, with a New Hampshire plate registration 4055307. The vehicle is similar to the one in the attached photo.
Anyone who sees the vehicle should not approach it but should call local or state police immediately.
At 9 p.m., there were numerous cruisers at the Crutchfield Building investigating the incident. Investigators are attempting to find video surveillance from cameras in the area. Two other officers scoured the city hunting for the suspect. At one point, a man on a bicycle, matching the description of the suspect, was questioned but his shirt didn't match what witnesses reported seeing.
At around 9:30 p.m., tenants were told that they would be able to get back into their apartments sometime between 11:30 p.m. and midnight.
Investigators with the attorney general's office stated that the identification of the man killed was being withheld until his next of kin can be notified. An autopsy will be performed on Saturday.
Anyone with information about this incident should contact Lt. Sean Ford, the commander of the criminal investigations unit with the Concord Police Department, or leave an anonymous tip on the Concord Regional Crimeline at 603-226-3100.
