CONCORD, NH — A vehicle owned by the victim of a suspicious death investigation in Concord, New Hampshire, has been found after a man – possibly a person of interest in the case – abandoned the vehicle in Methuen, Massachusetts. Derek Licata, the social media specialist for the Methuen police, posted notices on Twitter Saturday that a subject wanted in New Hampshire was in their community, seen running from the vehicle – a blue Mazda 3. The Mazda was owned by the Concord victim and missing since Friday night.

The man was described as white, balding, wearing no shirt, and possibly no shoes, and was in the area of Swan and Prospect streets in Methuen. Police called in a K-9 unit while also searching the city by helicopter for about 90 minutes. At just before 2:30 p.m., officers called off both their ground and air searches for the suspect.

The department's K-9 unit was able to track the scent of the suspect but, each time, the tracking ended up in the same location. Police believe the suspect may have been picked up by another vehicle, according to Jeffrey Hastings of Frame of Mind Photography, who was at the scene covering the search. At one point during the search, police theorized that the suspect could have, but implausibly, escaped utilizing the city's sewer system, he noted.
