NH Trump Rally: Merrimack Man, Penacook Man, Teen Arrested

Peter Collins of Merrimack, Spencer Jubert of Penacook, and an unnamed juvenile were arrested by Manchester police on various charges.

MANCHESTER, NH — While it was a relatively uneventful event for unlawful activity at President Donald Trump's 2020 re-election rally at the SNHU Arena in Manchester Thursday, according to police, three people were arrested. At around 2:30 p.m., an arena staff member asked police to speak to a group of people who were being disruptive that they wanted removed. Officers spoke with the members of the group and all but one, Peter Collins, 69, pictured left, of Merrimack, left the area and crossed the street.

"Police explained that event staff had 'uninvited' him and he needed to go," Heather Hamel, the public information officer for the Manchester Police Department, said. "He refused to comply, despite being told he would be arrested."

Collins was then arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

About 20 minutes later, an officer near Auburn and Elm streets saw a group of juveniles riding bicycles on the sidewalk. The group continued to ride into the intersection, against a red light, and in a crosswalk, while the "do not cross" light was illuminated, according to police. The officer ordered the kids to stop. Only one disobeyed the command.

"A 16-year-old looked at the officer and continued to move forward, directly in front of an oncoming car," Hamel said. "The driver was able to stop in time. The teenager still refused to stop and pulled away from officers when they approached."

The teen was arrested and charged with disobeying an officer and resisting arrest.

At around 9:10 p.m., an officer directing foot traffic leaving the arena saw a man leap over police tape on Elm Street and enter the police command post. The man, Spencer Jubert, 41, of Penacook, was ordered to stop but allegedly didn't. Instead, police accused him of running from the area.

Officers caught up with Jubert and attempted to take him into custody when he reportedly pulled away. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
