New Hampshire Felon With A Long Criminal History Wanted On A Probation Violation

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help finding a convicted felon with possible “violent tendencies.”
Theresa Gail Ainsworth is 55, white, around 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighs around 180 pounds. She has brown eyes and gray hair. According to investigators, Ainsworth has a dolphin tattoo on her right shoulder and a pink tribal symbol on her back. She also has a scar on her right ankle.
After being convicted and sentenced in September 2023 for meth and fentanyl possession, a probation violation charge was filed against her after she absconded from supervision in August.

“Ainsworth has a criminal history dating back to 1999, with convictions for various offenses, including simple assault, possession of controlled drugs, theft, and resisting arrest with law enforcement,” officials said. “Ainsworth’s current whereabouts are unknown, but she has strong ties to both Strafford and Carroll counties.”
Corrections officials noted Ainsworth has a criminal history dating back nearly a quarter of a century.

Superior court records only offer some more recent cases, including two felony theft charges, due to two prior convictions in Rochester in December 2020.
In May 2021, she was charged with felony drug possession and controlled drug: controlled premises where drugs kept charges out of Rochester. Five months later, she was arrested in Somersworth on theft, contempt, and resisting arrest or detention charges. Ainsworth was also charged with drug possession, evidence charges, receiving stolen property, and breach of bail in Salem and controlled premises in Epping.
Ainsworth pleaded guilty to three theft charges, a drug charge, and a resisting charge in March 2022 and received five two-year suspended sentences, a year probation, and $1.68 in restitution to Walmart. She also received 51 days credit for time served.
Two months later, the cases were reopened due to a probation violation.
The violation was found to be true and she was sentenced to 12 months in jail, with 34 days credit, in June 2023.
In January 2023, she was arrested on a drug charge in Seabrook. Ainsworth failed to appear at a dispositional conference hearing in March 2023. She pleaded guilty to the charge in September 2023 along with the drug, evidence, and receiving stolen property charges out of Salem and received two 12-month sentences and a $584 fine, both suspended for two years and 140 days of time served credit.
Ainsworth was also accused of possession of a controlled drug-subsequent and delivery, weapon, contraband, etc. charges after an incident in Brentwood in May 2023. She was indicted on the drug charge on Aug. 8 and then failed to appear at the arraignment on Sept. 25. Another arraignment was booked for Nov. 27, and Ainsworth has a dispositional conference hearing booked for Jan. 22, 2025.
