NH Fugitive With ‘Violent Tendencies’ Is In Custody
Breaking: James Porter was reportedly picked up yesterday while exiting a Dollar General store in Jaffrey by police in that community.

CONCORD, NH — Last week’s Fugitive of the Week has been caught, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. James Porter, 47, was captured on March 14, 2018, by an officer with the Jaffrey Police Department, after recognizing him exiting a store in that community. According to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, after Porter was featured on March 7, police in Jaffrey reached out to the service to confirm the warrants as they were “very familiar” with Porter in that community. Porter was arrested as he exited a Dollar General store in Jaffrey.

“Mr. Porter was wanted on a federal arrest warrant for supervised release violations stemming from an original conviction and sentence for interstate transportation of stolen goods,” White stated. “Today, Mr. Porter was transported to the U.S. District Court in Concord, NH, where he will be processed and held pending his initial court appearance at a later time today.”

Porter is no stranger to the task force. He was convicted in 2010 for interstate transportation of stolen property and after serving a few years, was checked into a halfway house. In December 2013, he allegedly left the facility and failed to return. The task force caught up with him in Jaffrey, reportedly hiding under a bed in a family member's home.
Marshals are still searching for Angela Gauthier, who is wanted for failure to appear for felon in possession of firearms and possession of controlled drugs.
