Pembroke Felon Arrested With Dagger: Cops

Brandon Dumont was arrested this morning on Edgewater Drive in Hooksett on a felon in possession of a deadly weapon charge.

HOOKSETT, NH — A local felon was arrested this morning after police checked on two vehicles stopped in the middle of the street near West River Road in Hooksett, according to police. Brandon Dumont, 36, of Pembroke, was arrested on Oct. 3, 2017, for felon in possession of a deadly weapon. At around 12:30 a.m. this morning, officers on Edgewater Drive reportedly saw two vehicles parked in the middle of the road and checked on the vehicles, according to Sgt. David Scarpino of the Hooksett Police Department.

“While the officers were speaking with Dumont at his vehicle, they observed a large gold handle to a large bladed weapon positioned between the driver’s seat and the center console of the vehicle,” Scarpino alleged. “It was discovered to be a 16-inch dagger knife.” (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Concord NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

A check on Dumont revealed that he was convicted earlier this year in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North of felony possession of a controlled drug meaning that he was legally obligated to refrain from possessing firearms or deadly weapons.

Dumont was arrested and released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail. He’s due in court on Oct. 19.

According to reports on Patch, Dumont was also arrested last month on a criminal trespass charge after an alleged incident at McDonald’s Restaurant on South Main Street. Back in June 2013, he was arrested in Londonderry on unspecified charges. Later that year, in August, he was arrested by Rockingham County Sheriffs for failure to make restitution after a burglary conviction.
