When the police arrived, both Hibbards allegedly “fled out the back door and into the woods.” The police K-9 unit – Roxie – was called in and found the suspects about 200 yards into the woods. When they saw the dog, the pair reportedly continued to run into the woods. After a short foot pursuit, and assistance from troopers with the New Hampshire State Police, Tess Hibbard was captured, after a “brief struggle.” She was then turned over to the sheriffs.

“The State Police than began receiving calls of a man fitting Keenen’s description running across Interstate 93,” according to Sgt. Art Merrigan of the Bow Police Department. “The State Police helicopter responded to the area a while later however, Keenen was not located.”
