Tipster Helps Cops To Capture NH Fugitive

Breaking: U.S. Marshals: Alleged attempted meth manufacturer Richard Williams Jr. was arrested attempting to flee a business in Derry.

CONCORD, NH — A recent New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week was arrested allegedly attempting to flee capture in Derry after a tipster reached out to the task force last night, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Richard Williams Jr., 38, who was featured in June, was arrested on July 9, 2017, on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by Rockingham County for failing to appear on a charge of attempting to manufacture methamphetamine. According to Deputy Jeffrey White of the U.S. Marshals Service, on Sunday night, Task Force Officer/Special Deputy U.S. Marshal Shawn Walmsley received a tip about Williams and quickly gave the information to Derry Police.

Walmsley, he noted, is a deputy sheriff with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, who is assigned to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. This partnership helps to enhance fugitive operations for both the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, White said.

“I am extremely grateful for the Derry Police Department’s quick response and their successful capture of Williams,” Walmsley said. “Thank you to everyone that made this arrest happen!”
