Winter Storm Update: 1 To 7.5 Inches Fell In New Hampshire

Snow totals about what was expected; blustery winds on Sunday and Tuesday, too; rain-snow a maybe for Christmas Day.

GRAY, MAINE — While the snow is still falling in some parts of New Hampshire, the storm has pretty much ended in others.

Weather trackers and forecasters began reporting snow totals around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday. Trackers reported between an inch and 7.5 inches of snow accumulation in the state.

Most of the snow dropped in Grafton County, the White Mountains, and the Lakes Region with around 7.5 inches in Lebanon and neighboring communities, about 6.5 inches in Ossipee, and 6 inches in New Hampton.

In Merrimack County, the Concord Municipal Airport reported 5.3 inches of snow while residents in the West End reported about 4 inches and New London reported 5 inches. An East Canterbury spotter reported 3 inches.

In Hillsborough County, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport reported 3.8 inches while New Boston reported 3 inches and Nashua reported between 0.8 and 1.2 inches.

On the Seacoast, about 0.4 inches fell in North Hampton but inland Rockingham County found higher totals — between 2.5 inches in Stratham and 3.8 inches in Kingston. About 2.5 inches fell in Londonderry.

Windy This Week

For the rest of the day on Sunday, NWS forecasters are predicting temperatures in the lower 30s with winds between 10 and 15 mph.

Wind gusts, however, could be as high as 20 mph.

While mild weather is expected Monday, the wind will return on Tuesday again, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Christmas Day Weather

Weather forecasters are predicting rain and snow on Christmas Day, about a 40 percent chance, but otherwise partly sunny with temps in the upper 30s.
