CONCORD, NH — A woman from Concord is facing 12 charges and violations after an incident on Burns Avenue last month.

Around 12:30 p.m. on May 12, police were sent to a potential person in distress call on Burns Avenue. Before arriving, police heard a report that the person may have left the scene with a weapon and a beer, according to reports.

When the reporting officer arrived, they found a car with its engine running in a parking spot. As the officer approached, the vehicle's driver, Cassandra Wilkinson, 38, of Burns Avenue in Concord, was accused of pulling out of the spot, nearly driving into the police cruiser, and fleeing the area. As she drove by, the officer noted there appeared to be blood on her person.

Wilkinson reportedly was driving “at a high rate of speed,” and the officer began to follow the car. The officer accused her of driving more than 50 mph, turning onto East Side Drive without using a signal, and driving through a stop sign without coming to a stop.

The officer drove in front of the car, a Mazda, and stopped, got out of the cruiser, and attempted to remove Wilkinson from the vehicle, an affidavit said. After doing so, “the Mazda drove at me, accelerating at a high rate of speed, causing me to jump out of the way not to be struck by the Mazda,” the report said.

“If I had not jumped out of the way,” the officer continued, “I would have been struck by the vehicle and likely run over.”

Wilkinson was accused of driving north in the southbound lane, crossing over the double yellow lines, and driving through a red light at Hazen Drive. She was accused of driving through a red light at the Interstate 393 intersection and then west along the highway. The officer updated other units about the car and returned to the apartment.

The officer spoke with the complainant, who said Manchester police arrested Wilkinson recently and seized her phone. He did not know why she was arrested but believed she was with the “wrong people at the wrong place and time,” a report said. The complainant accused Wilkinson of waking him up by throwing water on him and demanding a beer. He said she had blood on her person, so he called police, an affidavit said. He claimed she later had a can of Steel Reserve.

About seven hours later, the report said the officer checked in with the complainant, who said Wilkinson had just returned home and he was just about to call the police. Officers and a sergeant met at the former Red Apple Buffet Restaurant, coordinated a plan to arrest Wilkinson at her apartment, and did so later without incident.

Wilkinson was charged with felony reckless conduct-deadly weapon, simple assault, domestic violence-simple assault, disobeying an officer, and vehicle assault charges, as well as traffic control device, yellow-solid line, stop signs; yield signs, unsafe lane change, fail to drive on the right side of the road, and two failure to use required turn signal violations.
