On Safer Internet Day, Nashua Police, Others Announce 12 Arrests

11 from Nashua and a Hopkinton, Mass., teen were arrested on computer-related sex crimes, child sexual abuse images, sex offender charges.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua police, while working with the New Hampshire Internet Crimes against Children, raised awareness about Safer Internet Day 2022 by announcing the arrest of 12 men on various charges on Tuesday.

Safer Internet Day is an awareness campaign started about 10 years ago that hopes to promote safe and positive use of digital technology with children and young people. It is the one day of the year, according to Lt. Brian Trefry of the Special Investigations Division of the Nashua Police Department, where people from 100 nations around the world “are sending the message that making the internet great for everybody takes everybody.”

Police along with the NH ICAC Task Force, Homeland Security, and the U.S. Marshals made 12 arrests including one attempted felonious sexual assault case, a teen and five men accused of child sexual abuse images, four duty to report charges and a registration of online identifiers case against sex offenders.

Arrested on Feb. 7 were:

Johnny Oriol, 41, of Pine Grove Avenue in Nashua on certain uses of computer services prohibited and attempted felonious sexual assault, both felonies. In January, the Nashua Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Against Children Unit began an investigation into the sexual exploitation of children on the Internet where a subject, identified as Oriol, was accused of communicating with an individual he believed to be child. Oriol was arrested and held on $1,000 cash bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Tuesday.

Vincent Giugno, 18, of Winter Street in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, was arrested and charged with 10 counts of felony possession of child sexual abuse images. Last year, the Nashua Police Department received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding an individual engaged in the sexual exploitation of children using various online platforms. Detectives from the Cyber Crimes Against Children Unit furthered the investigation and Giugno was arrested. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.

Sean Olivera, 30, of Ledge Street in Nashua was arrested and charged with two counts of distribution of child sexual abuse images and three counts of possession of child sexual abuse images, all felonies. Last year, Olivera was identified by police as an individual engaged in the sexual exploitation of children using various peer-to-peer networks, according to a report. Detectives from the Cyber Crimes Against Children Unit furthered the investigation. Olivera was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.

Erin Taylor, 23, of Kessler Farm Drive in Nashua was arrested on five felony counts of distribution of child sexual abuse images. In November 2021, police received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding an individual engaged in the sexual exploitation of children using an online platform. Detectives from the Cyber Crimes Against Children Unit furthered the investigation. Taylor was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.

Nathaniel Guerra, 21, of Conant Road in Nashua was arrested on five felony counts; distribution of child sexual abuse images. During the fall and winter of 2021, police received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding an individual engaged in the sexual exploitation of children using various online platforms. Detectives from the Cyber Crimes Against Children Unit then furthered the investigation. Guerra was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.

Noah Hesse, 23, of Brook Village Road in Nashua was arrested on two counts of distribution of child sexual abuse images, two counts; possession of child sexual abuse images, three counts of indecent exposure and lewdness, and certain uses of computer services prohibited charges, all felonies. In December 2021, the Nashua Police Department received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding an individual engaged in the sexual exploitation of children using various online platforms. Detectives from the Cyber Crimes Against Children Unit then furthered the investigation. Hesse was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.

Jordan Fernandes, 22, of Commercial Street in Nashua was arrested and charged with three felony counts of distribution of child sexual abuse images. In December 2021, police received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding an individual engaged in the sexual exploitation of children using various online platforms. Detectives from the Cyber Crimes Against Children Unit then furthered the investigation. Fernandes was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.

David Montes-Rodriguez, 32, of Ash Street in Nashua was arrested and charged with three felony counts of registration of online identifiers. In June 2008, Montes-Rodriguez was convicted of aggravated felonious sexual assault in Hillsborough County Superior Court South, requiring him to register quarterly, in person, with the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction over his place of residence for the remainder of his life. In November 2021, the Special Investigations Division accused Montes-Rodriguez of failing to report online identifiers on his sex offender registration. Montes-Rodriguez was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.

Keith Herbert, 44, of Temple Street in Nashua was arrested and charged with felony duty to inform-subsequent offense. In October 1998, Herbert was convicted of aggravated felonious sexual assault in the Middlesex County Superior Court in Massachusetts. Due to this conviction, Herbert must register quarterly, in person, with the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction over his place of residence for the remainder of his life. In November 2021, the Special Investigations Division accused Herbert of failing to report information about vehicles registered in his name on his sex offender registration. Herbert was arrested, refused bail, and was scheduled to be arraigned in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Tuesday.

Rickie Duncan, 66, of Amory Street in Nashua was arrested and charged with felony duty to report-subsequent offense. In August 1993, Duncan was convicted of unlawful sexual intercourse in the 6th Circuit Court Richfield, Utah. Due to this conviction, Duncan must register semi-annually, in person, with the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction over his place of residence for the remainder of his life. In December 2021, the Special Investigations Division accused Duncan of failing to complete his sex offender registration in October 2021. Duncan was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.

Kenneth Amber, 74, of Chestnut Street in Nashua was arrested and charged with felony duty to report-subsequent offense. In November 1995, Amber was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 in Woburn District Court in Massachusetts. Due to this conviction, Amber must register quarterly, in person, with the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction over his place of residence for the remainder of his life. In January 2021, the Special Investigations Division accused Amber of failure to complete his sex offender registration in December 2021. Amber was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.

Kenneth Haley, 44, of Harbor Avenue in Nashua was arrested and charged with felony duty to report. In March 2008, Haley was convicted of aggravated felonious sexual assault in Hillsborough County Superior Court South. Due to this conviction, Haley must register quarterly, in person, with the local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction over his place of residence for the remainder of his life. In January 2022, the Special Investigations Division accused Haley of failing to complete his sex offender registration in December 2021. Haley was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a future date.
