Mom Charged In Infant’s Death, House Explodes: NJ Weekend
A mom was charged in the death of her 6-month-old son and a crashed motorcyclist was run over while laying in the road this weekend in NJ.
NEW JERSEY — A mom was charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of her infant, several people were shot and a motorcyclist was killed after he crashed and then was run over in the road.

Michelle Stanton, 29, was charged with manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the 2023 death of her six-month-old son, Christian Carty, authorities said.
The charges stem from a call to Stanton's home in the Villas section of Lower Township on June 25, 2023, where her son was found unconscious and unresponsive, according to a news release from the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office. Following a lengthy investigation, Stanton was taken into custody on May 9 and faces five to 10 years in prison if convicted, authorities said.

Man Fatally Shot, Shooter At Large
A 24-year-old was shot and killed Friday night in Jersey City, and cops are still looking for the shooter, officials said.
Resheed Wallace was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body and was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, officials said. Authorities are investigating the shooting, but no arrests had been made as of Saturday afternoon. 2 Wounded In Shooting
Two people were injured in a shooting in Montclair Friday evening, authorities said. Officers found two people at the scene, both suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower body. The first victim, a 43-year-old male from East Orange, suffered gunshot wounds to his right hip, thigh and calf. The second victim, a 32-year-old male from Montclair, suffered a single gunshot wound to his left calf, police said.
Witnesses reported a grey or silver minivan in the area before the shooting. Preliminary investigation suggests the shooter was inside the minivan and then fled, according to officials. Motorcyclist Killed In Back-To-Back Crashes
A motorcyclist died after he crashed while riding in Egg Harbor Township and was run over by another driver, police said.
James Geloso, 58, of Pitman, was riding shortly before midnight on May 11 went he went off the road and into the grass, losing control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle hit a sign support and went on its side, flinging the motorcycle and Geloso into the inside lane of Black Horse Pike, police said.
A witness called 911 to report the incident, but while on the phone with dispatchers a 2018 Cadillac XTS driven by Thomas Langford, 63, of Egg Harbor Township, drove down the road, striking both the motorcycle and Geloso, police said. As a result, Geloso died from his injuries.
Man Charged With Murder In Shooting Of 62-Year-Old
Police announced that a man had been charged in connection with the shooting death of a Paterson man, NJ.com reported. Jimmy Mercedes, 39, of Paterson was charged with murder and weapons offenses after Daryle Robinson, 62, was shot on May 5, according to the report.
Robinson was hospitalized, but died from his injuries on May 7, the outlet reported. Mercedes was found to be responsible for the shooting and turned himself in to police the morning of May 10, the outlet reported. He faces 30 years to life in prison on the murder charge.
