Cinnaminson Officials 'Strongly Condemn' Attacks On Israel
Cinnaminson police will monitor Jewish and Islamic houses of worship throughout the township.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — Cinnaminson officials "strongly" condemned the recent attacks against Israel. Police will monitor Jewish and Islamic houses of worship throughout the township.
Thursday's statement from Mayor Ernest McGill and the Township Committee came amid Saturday's Hamas-led attack on Israel and ensuing warfare in the Jewish state and Gaza.
McGill and the Township Committee "strongly condemn the attacks by Hamas and Hezbollah against the people of the State of Israel," the statement said.

"As a state and country with a large population of Jewish and Israeli American neighbors," the statement continues, "the events that have taken place in Israel are heartbreaking. Since Saturday, the world has watched in horror the heinous and appalling acts of terrorism to civilian men, women and children in Israel. We have watched terrifying images broadcasted internationally that showed the indiscriminate kidnapping and murder of Israelis, Americans, and others which is one of the worst atrocities in history."

Law enforcement around the state has patrolled sensitive areas, such as Jewish and Islamic houses of worship, over the past week. However, there haven't been any specific threats in New Jersey, according to state Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin.
The Hamas-led attack on Israel killed more than 1,300 people, while Israeli strikes in response have killed nearly 1,800 people in Gaza, CNN reported Friday.
Hezbollah — a Lebanese Shia Islamist political party and militant group — praised Hamas's attack on Israel. The group launched guided rockets and artillery shells Sunday at Israeli-occupied positions in Shebaa Farms — a strip of land at the intersection of the Lebanese-Syrian border and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
Israel responded with drone strikes and artillery fire on Hezbollah positions near the Golan Heights-Lebanon border.
