South Jersey Man Pleads Guilty To Trafficking Drugs: Feds

TRENTON, NJ - A Burlington County man recently pleaded guilty to charges stemming from his involvement in a drug-trafficking organization in that county, the U.S. Attorney General’s office said.

Herbert Mays of Willingboro was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than 280 grams of crack cocaine, according to authorities.

The conspiracy mostly took place in Willingboro, Burlington City, Burlington Township, Bordentown Township and Edgewater Park, the U.S. Attorney General’s Office said.

Mays faces a mandatory penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum potential penalty of life in prison and up to a $10 million fine for each of the charges he pleaded guilty to, according to authorities. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 20, authorities continued.

Eleven other members of the same drug trafficking conspiracy have already pleaded guilty to their involvement in the conspiracy, and charges against eight other defendants are still pending. the U.S. Attorney General’s Office said.
