(theretrospect.com) — Collingswood officials are moving to buy the Good Shepherd school and convent property for $1.522 million, planning to lease it to the school district for $1 and use it for borough programs. They also amended an existing $15 million recreation bond to earmark funds for the purchase and named a redeveloper for the Water Tower affordable housing area, with final votes set for November 2.
   

• World's Best Short Films to Screen at Scottish Rite Auditorium (newjerseystage.com) — Collingswood residents can catch a special screening of award-winning short films at the Scottish Rite Auditorium on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 7:00pm. The program includes globally recognized shorts plus two with South Jersey ties, and tickets are $18.88, available online for this Camden County–hosted event.
   

• Haddon Township Police: Mount Ephraim Ave. Crash Leads to Ar... (theretrospect.com) — A high-speed chase on Mount Ephraim Avenue ended when a driver crashed near Collings Avenue and fled on foot, leading to two arrests and the recovery of loaded handguns and drugs. A Collingswood police officer helped canvass nearby yards, finding a stolen, fully loaded handgun and bag, before suspects were turned over to county authorities.
