Photos of Rt. 1 Car Crash Tuesday Morning in North Brunswick

One person remains in critical condition Tuesday night as a result of the crash at Rt. 1 and North Oaks Blvd.

NORTH BRUNSWICK TWP., NJ - Here are photos of the devastating car crash Patch told you about Tuesday morning in North Brunswick, a collision that shut down Rt. 1 at the peak of rush hour for hours. One person remains in critical condition Tuesday night as a result of the crash.

The crash occurred just after 7 a.m.: North Brunswick police were dispatched to the intersection of Rt. 1 and North Oaks Boulevard. Upon arrival, police found a three-vehicle collision on the northbound side of the highway. It included two passenger cars and a box truck. At the time of the collision, all three vehicles had been traveling Rt. 1 north. A preliminary investigation shows that the box truck failed to stop when reaching the intersection, striking the Toyota Corolla with great force and pushing it into the Acura in front of it, police said.

One driver sustained non-serious injuries, but the other driver was critically injured. Both were taken to RWJ University Hospital by EMS. The driver of the truck was not injured.
