‘No Tolerance' For Hate, Says Edison Mayor After Jewish Center Threat
The mayor also noted the recent rise in antisemitism and threats of violence in Edison, saying the Township is proactively addressing them.
EDISON, NJ – Edison Mayor Sam Joshi on Thursday condemned the bomb threat made to the Jewish Community Center in Edison.
The mayor noted that recently there has been a rise in antisemitism and threats of violence in Edison.
“As Mayor, I want to restate my position that there is absolutely no tolerance for hatred, or discrimination of any kind,” Joshi told the community in a Facebook post.

The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County was evacuated on Wednesday after a bomb threat was mailed in. JCC is located on Oak Tree Road. More: Jewish Community Center In Edison Evacuated After Bomb Threat: Police
Police evacuated the building as authorities investigated. Four bomb-sniffing K-9s from New Jersey State Police, the Sheriff's Department and Edison Police were brought in.

“We are mobilizing all necessary public safety personnel including uniformed, nonuniformed officers, as well as our K9 units to proactively address these recent threats,” Joshi said.
The mayor's office is currently working with additional law enforcement agencies to “identify and prosecute the perpetrator(s) to the fullest extent of the law,” Joshi said.
No threats were found at the JCC building and police gave an all-clear later that day.
