Fair Lawn Students Helping Alumnus Battle Rare Blood Disorder

'Full of life' Jennifer Jimenez was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia last year.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Students and teachers are banning together to help a borough woman in the fight for her life.

Jennifer Jimenez noticed that she had unexplained massive bruises all over her body. After numerous blood tests, unsuccessful treatments, two painful bone marrow biopsies, eight platelet and three red blood cell transfusions, she was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia.

Doctors do not know how Jimenez became sick. More than $54,000 has been donated on a GoFundMe campaign to help her fight for her life.
