Man Charged With Assault By Auto Following Fair Lawn Crash
Patrick Serafin, 25, of Riverdale, was charged after police found evidence of drug use in his vehicle, police said.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — A man was charged with assault by auto following a motor vehicle crash Thursday, police said.
Four police officers responded to the crash on Morlot Avenue near Van Saun Place Thursday afternoon and arrested Patrick Serafin, 25, of Riverdale after evidence of drug use was found in his vehicle, said Sgt. Brian Metzler.
Serafin was charged with assault by auto, driving while intoxicated, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and reckless driving, Metzler said. Serafin was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 57-year-old woman from Paterson, was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Metzler said.
