Memorial Pool Opens Today

After months of hard work getting the pool prepared, it opens officially on Friday.

The season started officially Friday morning.

, but left untouched through the end of the year, getting the pool ready for summer became borough manager Tom Metzler's immediate top priority upon taking over the borough's reins this January.

From the beginning, Metzler reiterated that he would have the pool open on time, and, despite the doubts of some residents, he has succeeded.

Metzler attributes the pool's turnaround to a dedicated crew of borough employees who worked tirelessly to make sure the pool season would go off without a hitch.

For pool food, the borough has  who will operate both a fully-contained trailer with a variety of food choices, as well as a separate refreshment stand.

A covered outdoor dining area has replaced the old air-conditioned indoor dining room, and guests will be able to order from a menu that is actually more extensive than what was previously offered.

"I really actually think the residents will see very little in change," Metzler said back in May.

Family - $ 175
(Father, mother & all children not having completed 12th school year. Also, any college student up to 23 years of age who lives at the parents Fair Lawn address)

Single Adult - $ 85          
(Past 13th school year or 16th birthday and not attending school.)

Junior - $ 55 
(Student not having completed 12th school year.)

Senior Citizen - $ 20 
(65 years or older) 

Non-Swimmer - Free
(Individual using beach, back beach, but not swimming)
