Rockettes Honor Bergen Ice Cream Parlor For Spreading Joy To The Community

2 members of the famous dance company were happy to give back to their North Jersey fans Thursday.

Two Rockettes stopped by Van Dyk's Homemade Ice Cream in Ridgewood Thursday and honored the longtime village business as part of the dancers' Make Time For Joy initiative.

Dancers Sarah Staker and Nicole Baker, of Upper Saddle River, enjoyed some homemade peppermint stick ice cream, met with the owners, the Kotrokois family, and took pictures with customers. They presented the Kotrokois family with a certificate for making VanDyk's one of the places people make time for joy at during the holiday season.

The Rockettes debuted on stage at the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular” in 1933. The 80-member group’s routine is complex and the company rehearses six hours a day, six days a week.
