Ten Hunterdon departments, plus agencies in Morris and Sussex counties, will use the grants for extra patrols and sobriety checkpoints as officials urge residents to plan sober rides and report suspected impaired drivers.

Leaders highlight a debt-free status since 2014, continued investments in infrastructure and services, and support for the county's 26 municipalities, saying the streak reflects a countywide culture of fiscal discipline and accountability.
   

• Bogan, Picillo lead winners at NHRA Testo NHRA Chesapeake SPORTSnationals (dragchamp.com) — A Flemington, N.J., racer, Shawn Fricke, reached the Super Comp final at the NHRA Testo Chesapeake SPORTSnationals before being edged out by Maryland's Jeff Kundratic. The event at Cecil County Dragway featured racers from across the East Coast, with detailed final and qualifying results across multiple drag-racing classes.
