“Many of the great singers such as Sutherland and Caruso started their careers in an opera chorus, including myself. Singing in a chorus gives the vocalist a chance to be on a professional stage, helps get rid of nerves, and work with some of the top pros. A great chorus is the life blood of every opera,” said Amara.
Under Chorus Director and Associate Conductor Mara Waldman, singers will explore grand opera through live performances. The opera will be fully staged, with the cast performing in costume accompanied by an orchestra under internationally renowned Principal Conductor and Music Director Anthony Morss.
